Summary
Performs high quality non-invasive diagnostic vascular imaging. Operates all equipment pertinent to the procedures. Evaluates and educates all customers regarding the vascular disease process and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
Job Duties
- Performs testing on cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic purposes. Performs all aspects of non-invasive vascular testing.
- Performs all studies following Vascular Surgery protocols, including but not limited to current IAC Standards.
- Positions and handles patient with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patience, and safety. Maintains pertinent patient documentation.
- Determines images appropriate for diagnostic purposes.
- Checks order and history. Reviews charts, selects appropriate equipment and transducer setting for tests ordered.
- Coordinates timing of exams. Triages the patients.
- Records and files study results. Communicates technical findings with the vascular surgeon on duty in the office - stat results to be phoned to the referring physician after reviewing the study with the office physician.
- Completes equipment maintenance including wiping down probes and machines, cleaning of blood pressure cuffs, and cleaning of all patient contact areas.
- Performs chart prep including entering patient schedule, entering vascular surgeries not currently in patient's chart, and ensuring appropriate studies are included in the schedule per the physician's orders and office visit notes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma Completion of vascular ultrasound program or equivalent training.
- Registered or registry-eligible Vascular Technologist for a busy ICAVL accredited vascular laboratory in a physician practice.
- General understanding and working knowledge of a variety of diagnostic equipment.
- Demonstrates the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of patient's needs.
- Must exhibit a high degree of maturity and the ability to perform required procedures and any other job related duties.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
- RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist ARDMS - State of Pennsylvania within 2 Years
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
