Location: Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
- Primary lead for production (internal or management of 3rd party) of Revit models and deliverables for select projects.
- Create, manage, and maintain project content for project teams.
- Review constructibility means and methods with project teams to help avert challenges before they arise.
- Perform Quality Control Review of drawings and bill of materials (plans & sections, isometrics, spool sheets, B.O.M.'s) prior to submittal to clients.
- Review drafts of shop drawings with clients.
- Engage with project teams to support the creation, maintenance, and client satisfaction of projects.
- Coordinate weekly information exchange across teams.
- Compile weekly project team hours and tasks reports (in-house and 3rd party).
- Responsible for development of subordinates.
- Coordinates employee actions for subordinates to include timecards, vacation evaluations, discipline, and training.
- Provide performance feedback to direct reports.
- Provide one-to-one mentoring on 'Best Practice' workflows to project teams as required.
- Support VDC project team while enforcing "modeling best practices".
- Ensure that our clients are taken care of and hanve an enjoyable experience working with our team.
- Maintain project BIM files in accordance with company/client procedure.
- maintain project BIM document archive and retrieval for projects.
- Utilize and enforce company/client BIM procedures and policies.
- Ability to prepare detailed 3D drawings in Revit, AutoCAD & CADmep as well as various other design modeling and coordination software (Navisworks) formats.
- Work with VDC Director to investigate and test new Revit add-ons and other technologies.
- Help VDC Director establish company standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in BIM, 3D modeling, construction technology, or related field.
- Superior knowledge of BIM technologies with and understanding of its direction and impact on the AEC industry.
- Experience with virtual project collaboration technologies
- Relevant and current knowledge of current BIM related systems and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of BIM as it applies to construction work packaging, construction planning & sequencing.
- Understanding of project workflows (schematic design, design development, construction documentation phases) and basic project management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, clearly and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Experience til current and prior version of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other design technologies.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred (not required).
- Management and/or project management experience.
- MEP+ firm experience.
- Experience participating on multi-discipline project work teams
- Ability to work independently and effectively within the team environment to encourage creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Self-directed and self-motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively.
- Willingness to travel to job sites to develop relationships with teams and customers.
Pay Range: $42-$50 per hour, approximately 50 hours per week, plus comprehensive benefits package
