WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A VDC MANAGER?
As the VDC Manager at Journey Group, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the VDC department. Your responsibilities will include hiring and mentoring new employees, managing performance, and cultivating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You'll be a trusted advisor to executive and divisional leaders, offering strategic vision on VDC investments and initiatives. Establishing BIM standards for quality and ensuring adherence will be key to your success, along with managing the annual department budget.
Additionally, you'll advise project leadership on staffing and schedules and develop relationships with subcontractors and technology vendors. Your efforts in business development, including engaging prospective clients and leading educational initiatives, will position Journey Group as a leader in the construction industry, all while fostering a collaborative environment focused on growth and excellence.
Are YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS VDC MANAGER ROLE?
To thrive as a VDC Manager at Journey Group, a strong foundation in construction management, architecture, or engineering technology is essential, ideally supported by a bachelor's degree or an associate degree in a relevant field. With a minimum of five years of experience in an Architectural or Engineering production environment, proficiency in Revit for design and construction projects is crucial. Leadership skills are preferred, enabling you to effectively oversee team dynamics, mentor new talent, and drive performance management.
Strong relationship-building skills will be necessary to collaborate with executive leaders, subcontractors, and technology vendors. Additionally, a strategic mindset is vital for budget management and providing insightful advice during project setup. Your ability to foster innovation and continuous improvement will also be instrumental in enhancing the VDC department's impact within the organization and the construction industry at large.
