About the Job
The VDC Systems & Training Specialist will develop and maintain training curriculum and resulting manuals and/or training aids for all systems in vehicle distribution and contracted trucking carriers. This can be in form documentation of existing system functionality and training or online training. This role also acts as technical expert for C4-US-A-7 systems (and hardware) as required by department. You will identify opportunities to automate existing reporting in collaboration with VDC Data and Reporting Analyst and condense large data sets into actionable insights. You will be responsible for supporting department with requirement management for distribution applications or projects as well utilize company-approved project management processes to direct the execution of IT related projects within the business unit.
In support of BMW Group’s business objectives, this position requires regular attendance at a BMW office/facility with remote work capability (hybrid).
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze systems processes to streamline business operations for training, vendors, and other business partners.
- Analyze data from other Aftersales departments to identify departmental training gaps.
- Onboarding systems and training assistance for new hires.
- Draft and distribute local systems manuals training materials to transportation staff, dealer management, and internal employees.
- Provide systems training support on site if necessary – Including but not limited to training manual, onsite training, videos, and DCS messages.
- Troubleshoot systems operational issues – local and other.
- Analyze and distribute data for training schedules, identify strategic processes for training and the implementation of training path.
- Attend regular meetings with various departments including IT departments, Sales, Aftersales, as well as external service providers as needed.
- Contributing to the functional and technical solution of all vehicle distribution system initiatives.
- Testing deliverables against a user story’s acceptance criteria to validate that the delivered product meets the business goals.
- Collaborating with IT to determine requirements, define acceptance criteria, and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
- Consistently analyze and improve upon training manuals and documentation.

The pay range for this role is: $74,831.00 - $87,642.00.
The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in IT or Technical Training
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Cognos, Outlook, SAP
- Leadership skills and the capability to lead without formal disciplinary responsibility (this includes the ability to lead peers successfully)
- Experience in the technical solution stack applied in the incumbent’s area of responsibility
- Understanding in software engineering and understanding of software architecture concepts, e.g. for Cloud based environments and cloud migration, user experience design and test driven development, test automation and continuous integration and deployment
- Ability to be effective in dealing with uncertainty and a volatile environment with often ambiguous and conflicting requirements and priorities
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic manner
- Analytical and conceptualization skills
- Strong ability to structure, illustrate, and/or communicate complex concepts in a understandable, practicable manner
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Business-fluent English knowledge, in general and specific to the functional area on hand
