Vendor Manager/Project Manager

ACCOUNTABILITIES Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives Works with business users to define and analyze problems and align the most appropriate technical, application or configuration solutions Solicits, develops, documents and manages requirements and provides detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout project life cycle .
A. Vendor Onboarding: Drives the development and execution of project plan by working with project team to define, sequence, and estimate duration of activities and determine schedules to meet project objectives. - Ensures consistency and adherence to Dell IT standards, processes, and policies for all projects. - Manages all aspects of the project execution including: chartering, scope definition, requirements gathering, project planning, change control, risk management and reporting. - Facilitates and manages resource planning, cost estimation, budget development, and cost control. - Manages the identification, resolution and escalation of project risks and issues. - Plans and executes project communications ensuring timely and accurate distribution of information, documentation, and issue resolution to all appropriate team members. - May be responsible to multiple Project Managers dedicated to a common project or fewer large/highly complex customer Projects/Deliverables. - Weekend and evening hours will be required to fulfill project meetings and delivery.
B. Vendor Relationship Management: Accountable to the onsite Vendor Director, and as such attends the Director's staff. - Is accountable for the uptime results for the Vendor facility and driving all Dell IT downtime issues to closure - Participates fully in driving the improvements across Dell IT as required to ensure project delivery and improved uptime - Participates and drives problem management for all critical incidents (Severity 1 / Severity 2) for the facility. - Will track and maintain a list of all critical incidents, the root cause trigger event, the permanent resolution plan, and drives/tracks the resolution into production. - Owns and drives Availability Management initiatives for the facility - Interface between Dell IT and Operations management and gather requirements from business partners and compile the Dell IT project roadmap - Manage communications both regional and global after Dell IT incidents on the daily Dell Business Pulse Calls. - Manage communications with the Vendor facility Director and Dell IT Senior Management - Represent the details on projects and be accountable for the deliverables of all projects into the Vendor facility - Accountable for driving the improvements across Dell IT as required to ensure project delivery and improved uptime in the Vendor facility - Primary Owner for Dell IT problem management for all critical incidents (severity 1 / severity 2) for the Vendor facility. - Responsible for Dell IT Availability Management for the Vendor facility - Works closely with the on-site Incident Manager and Control Room to resolve all Dell IT issues. - Be part of Regional and Global cross functional teams identifying areas for cross functional improvements - Weekend and evening hours will be required as necessary when downtime incidents occur. - Will adhere to all Dell IT Standards and SOX Compliance regulations
