About the Position
We have an opening for the Veterans Case Manager position in the Southern Oregon Region that will handle Supportive Case Management. The successful applicant will become a member of a dedicated team whose mission is to work with houseless Veterans and their families to coordinate and monitor successful community living through various voucher systems or fully independent housing. Specifically, this position helps connect Veterans with qualified housing and maintain housing as they stabilize in other areas of their lives. This may include assisting them with obtaining/maximizing benefits, helping them gain independent living skills, interfacing with landlords, avoid eviction/address notices of correction, accessing public transit and services, and connecting them to services that help them maintain sobriety and improve their mental health. Case Managers are provided with ongoing training and support, as well as opportunities for advancement. Work will generally occur at the Veterans Resource Center, various other ColumbiaCare locations and in the community, including client homes. Frequent travel is required and safe driving is an essential part of this position.
Work Schedule:Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (Full Time, Day)
What You’ll Make
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour DOE/Credentials.
Additional 5% Language Differential offered for Bilingual or Multilingual candidates (Spanish/English desired).
About the Program
The Veterans Resource Center connects Veterans and their families with the services they need –The VRC is focused on the overall wellness and reintegration of Military Veterans of all eras. With a primary focus on housing assistance, access to treatment, case management, and outreach, we take a holistic approach to addressing the individual needs of each Veteran. We invite all community partners to utilize the VRC as we combine efforts and collaborate to help those we serve. The VRC will serve as a single-entry point to provide the help Veterans need by forming a coordinated network of community partners. (Jackson County).
ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
What You’ll Need
The ideal candidate will have administrative office experience with good verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Preference will be given to veterans, but it is not a requirement of the position.
Additional requirements include:
- Bachelors in Social Science, Human Services or related field is preferred.
- Must have experience working with houseless individuals, veterans, the public housing authority and be familiarity with community resources.
Driving is an essential function of this position. Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and have the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
