Veterans Fellow - Marine Maintenance Fleet Program Coordinator - Port of Seattle

Some of what you'll be doing:
The Port of Seattle is committed to assisting military personnel departing active-duty service transition to civilian employment. The Veteran's Fellowship Program is designed to provide short term (6 months) employment that will assist veterans selected for the program in the following areas:
+ Identifying transferrable skills
+ Exposure to a civilian work environment
+ Career assistance
+ Exposure to corporate business practices
+ Mentoring
+ Resume and interview assistance
In this role, you will assist in creating documentation for the Marine Maintenance Fleet Program, including reviewing current process documentation, meeting with stakeholders for process validity, and researching updates as needed. Additionally, you will assist with Preventative Maintenance (PM) Parts Kitting to include reviewing asset lists, assembling part numbers needed for routine PM work, and documenting inventory.
+ You will maintain and enhance the processes that provide measurable benefits to business units, including process documentation, team guidelines, and regulatory/compliance documentation.
+ You will apply fleet expertise in evaluating business operations and processes.
+ You will consult with staff across business operations, provide mentorship, and contribute specialized knowledge.
+ You will identify areas where technical solutions would improve business performance.
+ You will perform other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
+ A Veteran – You have a minimum of three (3) years of active duty or mobilized reserve duty service in a branch of the U.S. Military Service (which includes the United States Coast Guard). Documentation of an honorable discharge from active or reserve status must be presented as part of the application process. Veterans Fellowship applicants must be within twenty-four (24) months of discharge to apply for a fellowship unless they have not worked full-time since their discharge and have been a full-time student in a degree or certification program since their discharge.
+ Desired – We hope you have two (2) years of experience in a general automotive fleet environment related to fleet asset repair, fleet operations, or fleet management.

+ Technically Sound – You are proficient using software such as MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and SharePoint).
+ Researcher – You are able to conduct research into best practices and technical documents to retrieve the necessary information to aide in project design and implementation.
What else you need to know:
+ Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
+ Work Environment – You will primarily work in an office environment.
+ Limited Duration – This is a limited duration position and is expected to last no longer than six months.
+ Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
