About the Job
We are delighted to be working on behalf of our client in Albuquerque, NM, who is looking for a qualified Emergency Veterinarians in this 24/7 facility.
This is a new emergency facility that has an opening for Emergency Veterinarian. As the facility is relatively new, all of the equipment and tools you need to carry out your duties, are up to date with modern technologies. Although open 24/7 - 365 days a year, there is an emphasis placed on having a work life balance. This is achieved by having a fixed working schedule. Our client also prides themselves on their low staff turnover.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Client Requirements
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
Board certification or eligibility for certification in emergency and critical care by a veterinary specialty organization.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and surgery.
Ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical emergencies, including trauma, respiratory distress, and shock.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively communicate with pet owners, staff, and other veterinary professionals.
Ability to work well under pressure, make quick decisions, and remain calm in emergency situations.
Physical dexterity and manual dexterity, including the ability to lift and restrain large animals.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as emergency veterinary services are typically needed outside of normal business hours.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients, clients, and colleagues.

Key Duties
- Providing immediate medical attention to critically ill or injured animals.
- Examining, diagnosing, and treating animals with a variety of emergency medical conditions.
- Performing emergency surgeries and other procedures, such as blood transfusions and wound management.
- Maintaining and updating medical records, including patient history, diagnoses, treatments, and prognosis.
- Communicating effectively with pet owners, providing them with clear and concise information about their animal's condition and treatment options.
- Collaborating with other veterinary professionals and support staff to provide high-quality, compassionate care to all patients.
- Staying current on advances in veterinary emergency medicine, attending continuing education courses, and participating in professional organizations.
- Maintaining a clean and well-stocked emergency room, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients, staff, and clients.
