We are seeking a Chief Veterinary Medical Officer to join our team.
As our Chief Veterinary Medical Officer, you will manage a team of Specialists in Oncology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine, a cohesive group of seven (and counting) Emergency (ER) Clinicians.

The Veterinary Medical Director's responsibilities and duties include:
- Typically Medical Directors work on the floor 3-4 days a week
- Leading and growing the team, managing DVM schedules, holding meetings, conducting annual reviews, developing and monitoring compliance protocols
- Supporting the Veterinarian (DVM) staff in the personal development of medical and administrative needs
- Partnering with your Regional Operations Manager and Hospital Leadership to ensure compliance with regulations, assisting with the preparation of annual planning strategies, ensuring financial success and the development of a vision for the growth of the practice
- Partnering with Hospital Leadership to create a positive teamwork environment in which veterinarians and staff deliver quality medicine and exceptional client service

Our ideal candidate:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
- An active veterinary license in the state of TN is preferred, but not required, we will cover state licensure transfer fees
- Ideally, 5+ years of Emergency (ER) Veterinary Medicine practice experience
- Currently has federal DEA licenses or is eligible to obtain upon hire
- Proficiency in internal medicine, diagnostics, surgery and emergency care
- Passionate about building and fostering a strong team
- Positive and effective leadership
- Ability to manage staff and outcomes with emotional intelligence
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
- Delegation of tasks and achieving results with practice team members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
