The Paw Patch Veterinary Hospital, established in 1984, is seeking an enthusiastic and client-focused Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Under the leadership of Dr. Erik Tysklind, we’ve built a practice where many of our team members have been with us for 10+ years. Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
QualificationsQualifications:
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring
- Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skillset
Special Working Conditions:
- Ability to work confidently around various animals (confirm species with practice leadership)
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings
- Ability to sit or stand at a computer for long periods
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination
