About the Job
DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is seeking Experience Veterinary Assistants (Level 3) to join our team in the ER.
As a Veterinary Assistant Level 3, you will be responsible for providing our clients with a top-notch experience as well as responsible for providing emergency nursing care to patients. On a daily basis, you will triage patients, calculate medical dosages, administer medications, run in-house lab work, place tubes and catheters, monitor and ensure patients' comfort, update clients on their pet's progress, and perform a variety of other tasks. This requires solid technical skills.
Wage: $26-$32 hourly, plus overnight and weekend differential for applicable shifts.
Schedule: ER veterinary assistants typically work 3/4 rotating schedules with 10 hours shifts. This means you have a consistent schedule that makes planning the rest of your life easy, and you get 3 or 4 days off in a row every week! - Preferred minimum of two years working in the veterinary field as a veterinary assistant.
- Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
- Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
