Are you a Veterinary Assistant with a passion for patient care and a drive to advance your skills? **VCA North Division Animal Medical** is expanding its team, and we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our diverse patient community.
**Compensation** : $18/hr to $22/hr, based on experience and credentials.
**Schedule:** Full-time opportunity with a 4-day workweek (10-hour shifts).
**What You'll Do:**
As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you will be a vital part of our patient care team, assisting our veterinarians and supporting our clients and patients through a range of responsibilities, such as:
+ Preparing patients for examination and treatment, including taking vital signs and performing basic assessments
+ Providing compassionate care, handling, and restraint for canine, feline, and exotic patients
+ Assisting in surgical preparation, monitoring, and recovery
+ Performing lab tests and diagnostics
+ Managing pharmacy duties, including filling prescriptions and client education
+ Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring medical equipment is properly sterilized and functioning
+ Plus more
**Who We're Looking For:**
We're seeking a Veterinary Assistant who has experience working in a clinical setting and can demonstrate the following skills:
+ Proficiency in patient handling, particularly with Low-Stress Handling techniques
+ Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and basic veterinary medicine
+ Ability to support veterinarians in a wide range of medical and surgical procedures
+ Strong communication skills and a commitment to client education
+ An understanding of safe, compassionate animal restraint practices
