Job: Veterinary Assistant
Pay: $18.27 per hour
The City of Tulsa is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join the team and contribute to the health and well-being of animals in the City's programs.
Essential Tasks:

Provide regular and preventive health care for various species.

Support major surgical and postmortem studies, ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Maintain the cleanliness of the animal hospital facility.

Prepare and maintain veterinary and laboratory records.

Monitor materials and supplies, alerting the supervisor of needed replacements.

Contribute to educational and cooperative programs.

Respond to emergency calls on a twenty-four-hour basis.
- High school graduation or GED.
- 20 college hours from an AVMA-accredited program in veterinary technology.
- One year of experience in a veterinary environment or equivalent.
- Knowledge of veterinary technology principles and practices.
- Proficient in laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with domestic and/or exotic animals.
- Ability to conduct laboratory testing and maintain records.
- Arm and hand steadiness for equipment operation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
