Veterinary Client Service Representative - Veritas Veterinary Partners
San Rafael, CA 94901
About the Job
About PESCM: PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the original 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County, with specialties in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Emergency, Critical Care and Radiology. Our mission is to serve pets and their people by continually pushing to improve our medicine, our service, our communication, and ourselves.
Why PESCM: We are not your typical veterinary hospital.
PESCM is run by managers who have been with the hospital for a decade or more, all promoted from within. We are former nurses and client service staff who understand what employees need, because we’ve been there ourselves: predictable schedules, regular time off, competitive pay, generous benefits, and a nurturing yet professional environment that fosters your growth and success.
We know the winning recipe is making a space for you to do good work and be part of the special kind of team unique to veterinary medicine, where the only way to combat compassion fatigue is to take care of each another.

- Welcome our clients in a friendly, helpful, and compassionate manner
- Prepare and review documents and medical records accurately and completely

- Process appointments, emergencies, and client requests while ensuring the highest quality of care and satisfaction for our clients at all times.
- Process admissions and discharges accurately; schedule follow up appointments as necessary
- Process invoices and payments accurately
- Assist with other administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, and emailing
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting strongly preferred, but extensive client service background without veterinary experience will be considered
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
- Ability to multi-task in a chaotic environment with competing needs
- Ability to answer multiple phone calls efficiently and politely while also prioritizing clients in person
- Ability to be compassionate at all times with upset and worried clients
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.

We offer desirable alternative work schedules, a competitive bay area wage and comprehensive benefits plan to include medical/dental, 401k, paid time off, scrub allowance, generous Pet Benefit Plan, Continued Education opportunities, and Commuter benefit, as most of our staff travel from outside of Marin County, often passing other specialty practices!
Pay: $23/hr - $25/hr. We also offer differential pay for weekend and overnight shifts.
