Animal Care Associates is a full-service animal hospital and boarding facility that has been treating pets in the Charleston, WV area since 1984. Job DescriptionWe are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Charleston. As the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for everyone who enters our clinic.
- Warmly greet clients and their pets, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the reception area
- Schedule appointments efficiently to optimize daily clinic flow
- Answer phone calls and emails, addressing inquiries and directing them to appropriate staff members
- Check-in patients, process payments, and manage client check-out procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Offer compassionate support to clients during emotional situations
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, including filing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure client confidentiality and maintain accurate patient records
- Minimum of 1 year of veterinary reception experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer systems and scheduling software
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Empathetic and calm demeanor, especially during stressful situations
- Basic understanding of veterinary terminology
- Customer service-oriented with a friendly and professional attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to handle unpleasant odors and noises associated with animal care
- Resilience in dealing with potentially difficult emotional situations
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
