Joining our team as a Veterinary Scribe Coordinator will be one of the most impactful and rewarding experiences of your life. The Veterinary Scribe Coordinator is on the “front-lines” of veterinary medicine, serving as an integral member of the care team and acting as the veterinarian’s personal efficiency partner. Our scribes work closely with veterinarians to complete various tasks: medical record data entry such as inputting physical exam findings, locate lab/imaging results (i.e. radiology, ultrasound) or prior medical records, and/or assisting the provider with other veterinary specific duties.You will see what actually happens in a veterinary hospital- including emergency and specialty medicine, observe a wide variety of cases, and develop lasting relationships with your fellow partnering veterinarians. Currently, we are hiring part-time scribes who can work 7p-7a and 12p-12a. Part-time positions require a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Chart in real-time as the veterinarian assesses and examines the patient
Document the history, physical exam, assessment and plan, results, procedures, treatment, and clinician consultations
Record provider-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient follow-up
Locate and obtain past medical histories, previous charts, past/current results and studies
Retrieve and display current and past imaging films (e.g. X-rays) for the provider to review and record provider’s interpretation
Draft discharge instructions and communicate with client (per client preference)
Update order information, enter procedure reports (per client preference)
Prepare estimates for services (per client preference)
Assist with charge entry (per client preference)
Perform a variety of other non-clinical tasks specific to the local facility
**Please note, our veterinary scribe coordinators do not handle patients.

No experience required!

Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, handle documents, bend and stoop as needed, and reach with hands and arms.
Required to use a keyboard and computer regularly.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Travel may be expected occasionally for this position between local veterinary facilities, as required by the particular program.
