About the Job
Our compensation package consists of a starting wage as follows:
Veterinary technicians - $19 - $22 with annual bonus opportunities.
Shift Details: We offer a 4 day work week with rotating Saturdays. We are very flexible and will work with you to mutually decide a schedule that works for both of us. This position includes urgent care hours as well as general practice hours. Urgent care hours are Saturday 1-8, all day on Sunday, and 6pm - 8pm Monday - Friday. There is a rotating weekend day every other weekend.
*We will be expanding our hours soon to incorporate urgent care. Our hours will be changing to 8am - 8 pm Monday - Saturday. Urgent care shifts have a $3.00 pay differential*
We are a four-doctor small-animal practice, known for our fun and humorous team that truly enjoys working together. Our services are extensive, including ultrasound, medical massage, acupuncture, and more. We cultivate an environment that encourages our team to learn and grow.
Our facility boasts a range of top-notch in-house lab equipment, such as the new Imagyst, an artificially intelligent cytology reader that analyzes ear cytologies, fecals, urines, and fine needle aspirates.
We are in the process of establishing urgent care hours on Monday - Friday 6pm - 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays, with additional shift differential pay, aiming to launch this service soon.
Our practice is at the forefront of technology, employing Scribenote for efficient charting. This innovative AI technology records conversations with clients and converts them into veterinary medical documentation in a single click, significantly saving charting time for our professionals.

Major Duties:
- Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for in-patient medical care- administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
- Anesthesia/Surgery – Our Veterinary Technician's prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilize anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.
- Dentistry- Our Veterinary Technician's provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery.
- Radiology - Our Veterinary Technician's position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
- Laboratory duties- Our Veterinary Technician's are responsible for collecting, preparing, & running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated (fecals, Urines, Ear cytology etc) when requested by doctor.
- Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools
- Client communication for hospitalized patients - give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.
- Client medical demonstrations / education - teach/educate clients on at home care procedures.
- Veterinary Technician appointments- blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals, AG, TNT.
- Clinic technician- assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam room, check patients in and out, take history and vitals, input data into patient medical record, ensure a smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.
- Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed- answering phones, booking appointments, admit/discharge patients.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
- Assist with inventory control – informing inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies.
- Preparing prescriptions - dispensed medications & medication refills.
Physical Requirements:
- The veterinary technician must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
- The veterinary technician must be able to endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time.
- The veterinary technician must possess sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties while in hospital environment.
- The veterinary technician must be able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
- The veterinary technician will be routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
- The veterinary technician must have good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
