South Metro Animal Emergency Care is looking for a CVT to become our veterinary technician training specialist.South Metro Animal Emergency Care is an AAHA accredited 24/7 emergency care facility. Day and swing shifts with the potential for periodic night shifts depending on staff training needs. This person will serveas atraining and education resource for hospital team members. Responsible for providing training to enhance day-to-day hospital operations as well as actively contributing to the professional growth and development of individual team members.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (Essential Functions):
- Foster a culture built on our values: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service, and Fun.
- Provide active training, coaching, education, and mentorship with the hospital team including leadership.
- Serve as a positive role model, emulating Lakefield core values while encouraging hospital leadership and individual team members to do the same.
- Monitor key performance indicators and overall performance of assigned Hospitals, help identify areas of opportunity, andhospital leadership in formulating and implementing strategies for improvement.
- Provide customized training based on needs of individual hospitals as well as share Best Practices.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws (OSHA, DEA, Labor, etc).
- Assist in the development and implementation of training for new programs, platforms, and projects as needed.
- Work with medical director to helpensure hospital teams provide quality medical care for pets.
- Provide training and support to help ensure the hospital is delivering "wow" client service.
- Assist the hospital in providing relevant client education material and resources.
- Maintain database of continuing education opportunities for all team members.
- Treat clients, patients, visitors, team members, colleagues, and vendors in a professional, courteous manner.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

- Credentialed veterinary technician withstrong technical skills(to include placing IV catheters, venipuncture, administering premedication, anesthesia induction & monitoring, patient preparation, surgical nursing, and perioperative nursing care, radiographs, etc.).

Anticipated Schedule:
- Day, Overnight, and Swing shift availability
Compensation:
- Competitive Compensation - $30 35/hour (commensurate with experience).
- Overnight and weekend shift differential.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Essential Qualifications):
Education:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Ability to resolve problems quickly and professionally
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
- State-recognized veterinary technician certification (LVT/CVT/RVT) with a credential in good standing required
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Knowledge of veterinary hospital practices and procedures.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and coach team members.
- Knowledge of medical equipment.
- Proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Cornerstone, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SmartFlow, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Demonstrated ability to leverage interpersonal skills and technical knowledge to bring people and ideas together to perform effectively.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills with a client-oriented approach.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team member must frequently use a computer for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision. This position requires walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time. The work environment may include working with aggressive animals that bite and/or scratch. May require flexible work hours including nights and weekends.Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
