Key Responsibilities
- Adheres to all mill safety rules
- Collects vibration data and does basic analysis to help prevent unplanned failures
- Maintains vibration database
- Uses motion amplification camera and software to help troubleshoot issues
- Issues reports for vibration, infrared, and more
- Completes infrared camera scans
- Tests motors and issues recommended maintenance repairs
- Enters work orders for findings and other maintenance related issues
- Maintains remote monitoring devices
- Maintains permanently installed sensors and boxes
- Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
- Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 3 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Must demonstrate ability to maintain technical database and strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Knowledge of CMMS system, entering work orders
- Possess clear oral and written communication skills
- Strong math skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge and/or background, must have understanding of basic equipment such as pumps, blowers, agitators, gearboxes, etc.
- Possesses an uncompromised commitment to safety
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience must be equivalent to a step 3 maintenance tech
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates ability to operate machines, hand-tools and electrical equipment.
- Possesses an operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Demonstrates ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
- Possesses basic troubleshooting experience and proven skills in machine repair.
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Welding, machining and fabrication experience a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.
