Job Description
The Branch Administrator is responsible for directing, planning, organizing, and the implementation of retail sales, sales training, referrals and business development activities in branch offices. He or she formulates and executes sales plans that are consistent with, and supportive of, the Bank’s annual business plan and strategic objectives. The Branch Administrator provides input for the annual branch budgeting process including loan, deposit, referrals, and net income goals for branch personnel. He or she develops and maintains effective relationships with branch management and personnel. The Branch Administrator tracks and prepares monthly management reports for new accounts, teller transactions, loans and portfolio analysis. He or she ensures that retail-based revenue goals are met or exceeded and works to develop the markets where new branches are located. The Branch Administrator develops and executes sales plans and programs designed to increase sales, loans, deposits, profits, and market share and to minimize expenses. He or she actively coaches, leads, and motivates employees, directing them to effectively identify the financial needs of customers. The Branch Administrator ensures professional business relations exist with customers, internal bank departments, third parties, and other external contacts. He or she directs, trains, and appraises personnel. the Branch Administrator provides leadership and mentorship of branch managers to be successful within our organization. He or she serves on various committees as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
- At least ten years of related business development, marketing, retail banking, and sales experience required
- At least five years of managerial experience required
- Strong knowledge of retail banking products and services, pricing policies, incentives, and promotion strategies required
- Proven track record of community/civic/trade organization involvement and business development
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to use financial calculators and related computer applications and business machines
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for effectively developing new revenue opportunities with potential and existing Bank customers
- Coordinates with Executive Management, Chief Banking Officer and Regional Managers, to develop short and long-term strategic goals for market areas and overall bank growth. Updates and monitors goals on an ongoing basis
- Maintains in depth knowledge of a bank's retail operations, systems and all products and services offered
- Provides routine monthly reporting and tracking for branch activity, calling officer reports and active pipeline monitoring with an emphasis on accountability. Provides an update to the chief banking officer monthly
- Tracks and prepares monthly management reports for new accounts, teller transactions, loans and portfolio analysis. Identifies opportunities for growth in each area and shares the information with management
- Recommends and administers sales promotion campaigns. Conducts regular reviews of sales activities and effectiveness. Assists with the development of sales contests, promotions, and incentives to increase sales and improve performance on weaker products
- Provides recommendations regarding improvement in sales and service delivery, programs, and procedures
- Ensures that sales plans, goals, and policies are consistent with established bank-wide goals
- Works closely with senior management to help enhance product offerings, training and development, marketing and referral development between bank product partners
- Maintains in depth knowledge of a bank's retail operations, systems and all products and services offered
- Fosters and develops cohesive system-wide communications, networking and team development to grow all lines of business
- Assumes responsibility for developing new business development opportunities with potential customers
- Maintains a current knowledge of industry trends, opportunities, products, and competitors to support the identification of business development opportunities
- Assists regional and branch managers and loan officers with identifying new prospect customers through cold calling, networking, and professional contacts. Performs one-on-one “cold calling” training with all new officers
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with potential customers
- Assist calling officers with the development of marketing plans to drive fee income and deposit revenue for the branch and the bank. Develops a personal, formal marketing plan on an annual basis
- Researches and develops potential customer lists. Tracks and reports progress of marketing activities at least quarterly
- Works to build a culture throughout the organization designed to ensure that employees understand the need to initiate and close only those opportunities which profitably balance customer needs and expectations with specific benefits of Bank products and services
- Ensures that all sales and business development interactions are professional, effective, and mutually beneficial to both the customer and the Bank
- Ensures that branch goals for cross-sells, referrals etc. are tracked, measured and achieved. Serves as a mentor and provides sales coaching to branch managers and employees as needed
- Partners with senior lenders to bolster and enhance key community engagement activities and strategic business objectives
- Works closely with branch managers to ensure they are working with their respective teams to meet goals and benchmarks over the course of the year. Provides suggestions for improvement and support
- Develops internal and external referral sources through participation in bank events, community activities, and participation in seminars and professional groups (CPA’s, attorneys)
- Effectively manages the assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance
- Guides and assists in development of assigned personnel by conducting meetings, setting branch goals, establishing, and reviewing progress towards goals and objectives
- Reviews branch performance in relation to loan, deposit, and net income goals on a regular basis and assists branch managers in reaching their established goals
- Sets performance standards for assigned personnel. Provides suggestions for referrals to improve effectiveness
- Monitors branch staffing levels, including employee scheduling to ensure efficiencies and adequate coverage to meet customer service needs. Conducts interviews and assists with hiring employees and managers as needed
- Review and evaluate year-end performance for all branch managers. Identifies deficiencies and successes and makes recommendations for compensation
- Monitors and directs personnel in activities to ensure adherence to the Bank’s Core Values and Quality Service Standards
- Promotes positive leadership and direction for the development of assigned staff
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring professional customer relations exist between branch offices and all customers
- Ensures that products and services are delivered within an established timeframe
- Works closely with senior management and marketing to ensure sponsor ships, donations, community events/fundraisers are well coordinated, accounted for and maximized in each region
- Ensures that requests, needs, and questions are promptly resolved. Ensures that information regarding bank products, programs, and promotions is appropriately provided
- Presents to outside community and business groups to promote business development opportunities, goodwill and reinforce a positive image of the Bank
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Bank personnel and Senior Management
- Facilitates routine regional management team meetings to discuss and track pipelines, management plans, networking events, and highlight team success stories. Coordinates with senior management to host periodic regional team events
- Attends regional events and activities with the teams in each market area to the degree possible. Builds team and community connections to bolster presence and deeper understanding of individual and market dynamics
- Serves on the Senior Management Team. Works closely with branch staff and internal departments to promote well coordinated operations.
- Acts as a liaison between branch managers and Executive Management
- Acts as a resource and supports all branch managers and their employees
- Obtains and conveys information as needed
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
