The CIO must possess the cutting-edge technology skills and knowledge to serve the healthcare organization. The CIO must have a vision to create solutions that meet the needs of the organization by providing strategic leadership in management of the day-to-day operations of the organization, while ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are securing to protect health information as defined by HIPPA.

Essential Functions
- Individually and collectively develops, contributes and supports strategic planning and implementation.

- Assures patient safety in clinical and non-clinical settings and assures National Patient Safety Goals, if applicable, are complied with.
- Communicates effectively to ensure positive and productive relationships with internal and external constituencies
- Seeks out and maintains relationships which are important to hospital goals
- Fosters an environment of continuous improvement to achieve the highest possible quality care.

- Responsible for the development and management of a Technology Strategic Plan
- Work collaboratively with physician relations, finance, human resources and nursing administration while providing direction, vision and support for the IT Team
- Manage the Company’s technology expense and capital budgets, evaluate needs, conduct cost and productivity analyses and determine priorities to effectively and efficiently utilize technology revenue
- Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations.
- Provide leadership and direction for all departments, including publication development, database management, networking, voice and video communications, security, website development and user support
- Cultivate and maintain professional contacts with other professional organizations and associations concerning existing and developing information technologies
- Apply project management expertise and technology experience to deliver IT solutions and be able to react to technological changes in an efficient and timely manner.
- Stay current and maintain knowledge of trends, emerging technologies, and information systems development and their potential utility for HH
- Work to improve delivery of patient care through deep understanding of healthcare informatics and commercial information systems and applications
- Manage periodic technology portfolio analysis to generate project plans that ensure alignment with strategic plans

Minimum Education
- Masters Degree preferred, but exceptions may be made in lieu of professional experience.
Minimum Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of healthcare information systems and information technology, direct management of a major IT operation is preferred
- Significant experience in a health care setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a team member is essential
- Strong computer skills required
