Vice President of Business Development for a Multi State Senior Care Provider SNF, ALF, IL
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible to ensure achievement of budgeted overall occupancy, skilled mix and targeted activity outcomes for assigned region. The VP of Business Development consulates field Admissions Director and External Care Coordinator for facility team members for assigned to strategic markets (overnight travel may be required.) Provides on-site coaching, support and training for Admission team members. Manages and monitors standard process for all customer referrals and admissions. Manages the development and implementation of strategic and outcome-oriented Marketing Plans for assigned markets. Manages external and internal admissions coverage for assigned centers and may provide coverage as needed. Ensures that all team members for assigned markets exhibit a sense of urgency.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
This position manages all expectations and responsibilities of the Regional Directors of Business Development and Admissions Directors position for multiple centers and markets, as assigned.
- Participates in corporate initiatives and committees, as assigned.
- Facilitates sales training sessions and/or field-based sales coaching focused on the changing needs and challenges unique to each market or shared within the long-term care profession.
- Provides support and training to Admissions Directors and Liaison team members, as assigned.
- Serves as a resource for Network Development and new business activity.
- All team members are responsible for the development and success of new team members. Position accepts assignments to mentor new team members and train them in accordance with company policies. This includes partnering with new team members, as assigned, to train.
- Train and educate in processes to follow, systems and equipment to use (and do so properly and safely), facilitating relationship development with other team members, customers and families, and to model the companies, culture and expectations.
The Regional Director of Business Development interacts with other Corporate and Center personnel on a variety of professional levels.
- Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where direct interventions on participation may be required.
- In the case of a disaster, employees are expected to make best efforts to execute their assigned responsibilities, be willing to work additional hours, and travel and perhaps lodge at the location where recovery operations are being conducted. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
2+ years in external healthcare sales required. Experience in multi-site LTC sales preferred.
5-10 years’ experience in the healthcare industry required and regional healthcare sales management experience preferred.
Valid drivers’ license and access to reliable vehicle for daily use, required. Ability to travel overnight for training and meeting events.
Ability to travel to service sites and potential markets, as needed, with occasional overnight stay required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Highly responsible individual capable of working independently.
Strong customer service and solution-oriented approach.
Ability to work proficiently in a fast-paced, healthcare environment and interface with a variety of industry professionals.
Strong organizational, written and oral communications abilities with strong abilities for critical thinking and problem solving.
Strong leadership and time management abilities.
Comprehensive knowledge of the skilled nursing services, payors, center admission process and discharge process.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and thrive in fast paced environment.
Must be flexible in scheduling priorities, have own vehicle and be able to travel as needed.
Must have a valid driver’s license and provide own vehicle when traveling.
