The Vice President of Content Services serves in a senior leadership role overseeing the Content Services group, including content strategy, editorial services, and production design and layout operations. This role provides strategic direction and leads in the development of new products, services, and content initiatives that align with Naylor’s organizational goals. The position is responsible for communicating and collaborating with Naylor leadership at a department and project level and creating new content-focused products and services that meet the needs of Naylor’s association clients. This role provides excellent internal and external customer service, adhere to deadlines and budgets, and ensure relevant content and design quality for all Naylor products and services is best in class. The VP of Content Services works to ensure Naylor has the staff and budget resources to provide innovative solutions and content leadership to associations across all product offerings.
Responsibilities:- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the Content Services group personnel, offerings and performance.
- Oversees the management structure and the efficient and effective deployment of content and production team members, contractors and vendor partners.
- Leads the design and layout teams to develop high quality print publications while maintaining efficiencies to operate at scale.
- Evaluates and recommends changes to current products and services, as well as new offerings, that improve content deliverability and engagement.
- Develops and continually refines performance standards and benchmarks based on expectations and product offerings.
- Ensures content and production departments adhere to project deadlines, budgets and other KPIs.
- Works with Naylor’s executive leadership, business development and account manager to meet project and company revenue goals.
- Seeks to improve the tools and technology used by the Content Services group and find ways to improve Naylor product and service quality. This includes developing expertise in content development and delivery tools that can be utilized to improve Naylor products, processes and efficiency.
- Supports the Account Management and Business Development teams to drive new and renewal business related to Content Services.
- Serves as a liaison between other service and department leaders to resolve problems, improve internal and external customer service, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Serve as Editor-in-Chief by providing consultation and strategic direction for the Association Advisor media brand, including the website, newsletter, podcast and annual Association Benchmarking Report.
- Develops and maintains a full understanding of all of Naylor’s current product offerings.
- Have a minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in leadership role that required project and team leadership, excellent customer service and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate business acumen and ability to see the “big picture,” while being well versed in the specifics of the day-to-day editorial and administrative systems.
- Demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to work well independently while contributing as a team member of the senior management team.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of budgeting and resource management, ensuring sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
- Exhibit strong leadership and mentorship skills, being able to share information and educate others.
- Be curious and proactive when problem solving.
- Express strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Apply a variety of software knowledge to make all files compatible with production standards. Software includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), Adobe Suite (InCopy, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Slack.
