About the Job
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily operations and implementing companywide operational strategies with a focus on financial growth, service levels and customer satisfaction.
- Active participation and collaboration on Company Leadership Team and Strategic Council.
- Interview, hire, train and mentor a team of Directors/Managers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies, structure, and process to achieve business results.
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery for production/new valve assembly and services.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide weekly operational performance updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintain an exceptional and well communicated Safety Program.
- Oversight of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, supply chain and inventory management.
- Develop, manage and achieve the annual operations budget and capital investment plan.
- Collaborate with other Operations Leaders from the Emerson Impact Partner Network.

Physical Demands:
- Periodic visits to company operation centers and customer facilities or project sites, which require adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Typical facilities include Commercial Power Plants, Nuclear Plants, Pulp and Paper Mills, Chemical Plants, Manufacturing Plants, etc.
- Turning and twisting while lifting or moving a min of Navigate/climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding at client and customer sites, often times at least 10- 30 feet in the air and sometimes.
- Regular use of a computer, which may involve repetitive motion such as typing.
- Frequent use of the phone for communication with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
Travel:
- Overnight travel required to company operations centers currently in Chattanooga, TN; Decatur, AL; Jacksonville, FL; Lakeland, FL; Macon, GA, and Suwanee, GA.
- Must be willing for overnight travels to work on site at customer.
- Overnight travel may be required to attend factory and/or customer meetings as necessary.
- 50%+ travel depending on office location may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in operations management in manufacturing; experience in the valve or mechanical services industry preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of valve technology and assembly processes.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and project management.
- High Emotional Quotient for leading others.
- Experience leading Safety & Quality Programs.
- Strategic Inventory Optimization experience a plus.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
