Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and innovative Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering department and drive the development of cutting-edge technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background combined with exceptional leadership skills, enabling them to oversee engineering projects from conception to completion. This role requires a visionary leader who can foster collaboration, enhance productivity, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality applications and systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage office and the engineering team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Identifying target clients and projects throughout North Carolina.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that align with business goals.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Determining the personnel and other resources needed.
- Hiring the best talent.
- Ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Maintaining profitability of the office.
- Representing the company's best interests.
Experience
- Preferred candidate must be registered as a professional engineer in North Carolina.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
- At least fifteen years of experience in marketing, managing, and designing water resources, transportation, and/or other engineering projects.
- Candidates must be well-versed with the engineering market in North Carolina and must have strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven experience in an engineering leadership role, preferably as a Vice President or similar position within a technology-driven organization.
- Strong technical expertise in application development with proficiency in Node.js, PHP, React Express, HTML, SQL, Linux, and AWS.
- Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of managing complex projects successfully.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is preferred; advanced degrees are a plus.
