- Minimum 10 years previous work experience in Procurement, with 5 years in a senior leadership position.

The position requires the leadership in supply, cost, cash flow, and compliance through the development and implementation of optimal strategic sourcing strategies for Raw Material, Machined Components, 3rd Party Outside Processing, MRO and associated Services, Lubricants, and Energy. The Global VP of Procurement will be involved in all facets of the business, including: multidimensional support across Strategic, Tactical, and Transactional facets of the business. This position can be located in either Cleveland, Pittsburgh, or Whitehall, Michigan. Travel including international will be required up to 50%
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Procurement Leadership across 5 Segments and align approaches with Segment leadership. Drive alignment and engagement with key customers and stakeholders in the business - VP/GM's, Stakeholders, Plant Managers, and Operations/Facilities.
- Lead a matrix organization that is aligned by Plant/Segment Buyers and Category Management across all of HES. Drive stakeholder engagement, early involvement, and customer support.
- Lead a direct team consisting of different functional roles.
- Continue to optimize the organization of global colleagues as continuous improvement actions mature, business process progression, changes in the supply chain, and business objectives.
- Establish multi-year agreements across categories including Raw Material, Casting Production Materials, Outside Processing, and Indirect Materials including MRO supplies.
- Manage diverse commodities including elementals used in alloy production of nickel based super alloys, finished alloy billet, titanium, ceramics, and coatings for aerospace.
- Establish and achieve material cost reduction targets, cash flow improvement, and supply improvements (on a year over year basis) across all HES segments/locations that are tied to BU financial objections / plan.
- Co-Lead with Process Owner (Engineering) Leadership a cross-functional focus to review and benchmark components and materials to: optimize specifications, introduce additional suppliers to create competition and offset risk, and implement alternative design materials to improve quality, cost, and supply.
- Lead, co-lead, and support events / workshops as required to meet objectives and achieve productivity improvements, including but not limited to kaizen, make/buy analysis, part number and specification rationalization, cash flow optimization, and inventory reduction.
- Manage supply chain risk through intelligence and information gathering, analysis, and mitigation actions to eliminate risks including cybersecurity, geopolitical, economic, and legislative/government policies.
- Lead Site Procurement Teams and work directly with location leadership to ensure alignment of goals covering supply, product profitability, cash flow, plant projects, and production volumes.
- Achieve optimal inventories through the implementation and execution of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, additional consignment, consolidation of supply with Howmet Logistics (HLS), and further supply consolidation with key MRO partners.
- Drive supplier operational performance through the implementation of KPIs, for on time delivery, quality, and inventory.
- Work with Finance and Sales on the development of the annual business plan providing a forward projection of material spend, inflation, and cost savings in support of Revenue and Profit commitments.
- Work with Commercial Teams as needed to ensure that key supplier contracts, particularly raw materials and elementals, align with commercial programs as applicable and are aligned with the term of the customer agreements.
- Ensure regular scorecard reviews are held with key suppliers.
- Communicate, collaborate, and present regularly to senior leadership the progress, status, and results of key areas of responsibility with the focus on continuous improvement.
