Job Summary:
The Vail Resorts Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value. Our Finance team is driven by top-tier talent to support and deliver against the Company’s strategic growth objectives as we continue to scale the business. The team has led the acquisition of 32 resorts in the past 10 years, including Whistler Blackcomb in Canada, 26 resorts across the U.S., three resorts in Australia and two resorts in Switzerland.
The Vice President of Strategic Development will lead the development and execution of the Company’s long-term strategic planning by pursuing thoughtful network expansion opportunities. This role is accountable for our acquisition efforts globally, including alignment to and execution on corporate M&A strategy, due diligence, deal execution, and post-acquisition transition and integration efforts. This role will work in close coordination with the CEO, CFO and other Executive Committee leaders to drive strategic M&A activities to meet enterprise growth objectives. The role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and play a key leadership role with the Finance Senior Leadership Team and the Executive Team. This role will serve as trusted advisor to the CFO and be responsible for developing the Company's Strategic Development priorities to shape, drive, and communicate our vision and strategy for creating shareholder value.

+ The budgeted range starts at $210,000 - $260,000 + annual bonus + equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

Job Responsibilities:
+ Oversee acquisition efforts globally, including execution of corporate M&A strategy, due diligence and deal execution, and post-acquisition transition and integration efforts to drive strategic M&A activities, particularly across North America, Europe and Asia, to meet enterprise growth objectives.
+ Actively track and execute on opportunities in the acquisition pipeline and maintain key relationships with prospective targets.
+ Evaluate valuation and strategic benefits from network expansion strategy.
+ Shape and manage global M&A strategy, actively managing acquisition pipeline and evaluating prospective opportunities , particularly across North America, Asia and Europe
+ Manage global market and industry research efforts, while also playing an active role in developing relationships within the industry
+ Build relationships and influence across all levels of the organization and maintain high level of confidentiality within the organization as well as with external contacts
+ Cultivate a high performing team and culture focused on driving value, delivering results, stakeholder influence and leadership development for career progression.
Job Requirements:
+ 15+ years of experience in senior finance leadership roles
+ 10+ years in strategic or corporate development roles leading M&A strategy and execution
+ 10+ years experience in people management and professional development, demonstrated ability to build, manage, develop and motivate a team
Preferred Leadership Skills:
+ Strong executive presence and ability to remain “calm under fire.”
+ High intellect and ambition.
+ Unquestioned ethics and integrity.
+ Excellent listener and open to feedback.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $210,000 - $260,000 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
