We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Application Support Engineer to join our Production Support team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL – HYBRID.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Strong Application Support Engineer with excellent skills in:
- 10+ years of diverse experience in information technology required.
- Exclusively worked UNIX/Linux operating systems
- Database knowledge with strong SQL skills like Oracle, Sql Server, etc
- Hands-on experience in scripting or programming languages like Python, Perl, Shell scripting, etc
- Experience understanding /analyzing securities data, handling market vendor pricing feeds, working in time-sensitive projects is highly desired
- Hands on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab
- Experience working with IBM MQ, ETL tools like Pentaho, Snowflake are preferred
- Monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Prometheus, Splunk, Cloud Probes & Moog or equivalent
- Experience automating deployments and other repetitive tasks
- Experience with support activities like platform administration, deployments, upgrades, and understands & troubleshoots issues when incidents are reported in the platform.
- Experience in external and internal cloud
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Proficiency in using the JIRA, Confluence
- Experience in vulnerabilities management.
- Ability to produce system documentation including operational specifications, test plans, system architecture with attention to detail
As a Support Engineer the roles and responsibilities would be:
- Ensure operational stability of the Platforms in the production environment.
- Bring new automation procedures to improve the velocity and quality of engineering efforts
- Administration and management of configuration management tools
- Software builds and release management; script/automation of build process, creation of beta and formal versions of the application.
- Translation of development team requirements into Application/System configuration
- Software configuration management; managing defects, participating in software change control board
- Using Systems and Networking knowledge to isolate and fix application problems
- Continuous Performance Management. Measuring performance and working with developers and QAs to improve it.
- Working closely with Internal Stakeholders, Development Architects/Managers & developers, across locations, to ensure timely delivery
- Build quality frameworks to provide feedback loop to developers to easy and improved contribution
- Vulnerability management including patching systems and implementing security controls
