As the VP, Transportation Market Analytics at RXO, you will develop and shape actionable insights for our Managed Transportation business and lead the carrier procurement function. You will be responsible for both ongoing market activities (intelligence newsletters and other information pushed to key stakeholders), implementation of continuous improvement strategies and ad-hoc projects, where we help to scope and execute purchasing strategies across our customer base to address specific questions related to market dynamics and improvement on carrier procurement strategies.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Collaborate with functional leaders across Operations, Sales, Pricing & Procurement, Technology and Finance.
- Create and implement the procurement strategy by utilizing business concepts and contract management to optimize spending, negotiate better prices with suppliers and carriers, and achieve cost savings.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to improve performance, increase market share, and maintain industry competitiveness.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and partners to enhance business opportunities.
- Develop and implement a data analytics and insights strategy and roadmap that supports client objectives, as well as those of individual verticals, and enables revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Create and manage an analytics system that translates quality data into clear insights for clients (e.g., market/opportunity, relationships and impact, offerings and execution, and investments, etc.)
- Day-to-day operational leadership and management of core procurement teams and services (e.g., client feedback, executive intelligence, etc.).
- Engaging with senior stakeholders to shape use cases, determine analytic approaches, identify risks, and ensure alignment.
What you’ll need to excel:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 10 years’ experience in transportation procurement & analytics and/or client/carrier relations
- Deep industry experience in growth, commercial analytics & operations, marketing & sales, or similar field and/or experience leading a business intelligence function that has delivered demonstrated impact vs. business goals
- Experience managing “Brand” accounts
It’d be great if you also have:
- Experience leading a procurement function and carrier relationship management
- Proven ability to drive business growth, identifying new market opportunities, and building strategic partnerships.
- Quality Process experience with recognized processes, e.g., 6 Sigma.
