Antietam Broadband is seeking an enthusiastic Video Equipment Technician for a rare entry-level opportunity! This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and is eager to learn different aspects of video production and equipment handling. The Video Equipment Technician ensures the seamless operation and maintenance of video production equipment, enabling high-quality visual and audio output. This role supports the technical side of video production by setting up, troubleshooting, and managing a variety of hardware, such as cameras, switchers, audio consoles, and lighting. Also by maintaining signal integrity, performing cable management, and ensuring proper equipment functionality, the technician enables smooth production workflows. Additionally, the Video Equipment Technician contributes to the creative process by facilitating the technical aspects of recording, editing, and broadcasting, helping deliver impactful media content that meets the company’s standards and client expectations.

Location: Hagerstown, MD in office
Rate: $25.50-$28.85/hr plus overtime if applicable
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Manage studio wiring and cabling (fiber, copper, network) for seamless signal flow, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Splice and connect various video production connectors as needed.
- Operate cameras, manage lighting setups, and edit audio and video.
- Work cross functional with sales, advertising, and other departments to create needed content.
- Assist with creating commercials and corporate videos for advertising purposes.
The successful Video Equipment Technician has:
- 0-2 years in live or recorded video production
- High school degree or GED
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Knowledge of hardware and software integration used in video production.
- Experience with Black Magic and Tri-Caster video switchers, digital audio consoles, and other essential production hardware.
- Experience with video switchers, digital audio consoles, and studio wiring.
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite.
- Familiarity with additional NLEs like Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer is a plus.
- Strong initiative and attention to detail is required.
- Be able to write clearly and accurately; great grammar!
- Must be able to work well under sometimes intense pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain professional and ethical conduct at the station and in the community
- Ability to work with limited supervision is a must
- Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will work well with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments
