Seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapy Assistant for our growing vision care practice. Candidates should possess a strong desire and commitment and agree to training necessary for the position. Alphapointe will provide the necessary training, but candidates must have a therapeutic background or significant experience in vision care.

Job Summary: Provides therapy to patients of all ages with vision challenges, to develop and/or improve visual skills that have been affected due to, but not limited to, stroke, TBI, developmental vision and binocular vision issues and learning disabilities.
Essential Functions:
- Create individualized treatment plans, including weekly home activities, for all patients under guidance of optometrist.
- Chart preparation and documentation before and after each therapy session.
- Handle fluctuating caseloads of 10-20 patients.
- Coaching, mentoring and guiding other therapists
- Continuing education (CEU’s) to keep all licenses current
- Communicating with optometrist progress, needs and concerns about patient
- Provide a warm and caring environment, while maintaining professionalism
- Assist optometrist with testing during vision evaluations
Additional Functions:
- This position will also at times require sharing in the tasks of patient intake and scheduling.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Certification as a COVT preferred, but not required
- At least 2+ years of experience working as a vision therapist or in the therapy field (i.e. physical, occupational, vestibuler)
- Knowledge of basic vision testing and programs (ie. DEM, Groffman, King Devick, , visual fields, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft outlook, Teams, Excel, Microsoft Word, previous experience using practice management software
- Experience in working with individuals with vision challenges.
- Knowledge of the visual system and its anatomy, how it relates to the brain and common vision diagnosis (ie. Amblyopia, convergence issues, strabismus, etc…)
- Basic knowledge of primitive reflexes
- Office environment
- Pay Range $22.00-$25.00/hr (based on experience)
