Who You Are

We have an immediate fully remote VMWare Engineer position available. If you join our team in this role, as the VMWare subject matter expert (SME) you will design, implement, and support an enterprise VMware server environment and associated datacenter technologies. This role involves hands-on engineering within a complex, multi-enterprise IT landscape, focusing on VMware solutions, including vSphere, ESXi 4.x & 5.x, and VDI. our government partners.

What You'll Do

• Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation: Develop and implement VMware server solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across a geographically dispersed datacenter. 
  • 3-Tier Support: Provide tiered support for infrastructure issues, working closely with internal teams and external customers to resolve complex challenges. 
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Participate in planning and executing regular maintenance activities on the VMware infrastructure to ensure stability and performance. 
  • Change Control: Adhere to change control procedures to plan, test, and implement infrastructure changes in alignment with ITIL processes, coordinating closely with business stakeholders. 
  • System Operations: Maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, collaborating with network administrators to manage system performance and resources. 
  • User Interaction: Engage with users to evaluate vendor products, make hardware and software recommendations, coordinate installations, and ensure effective backup and recovery processes. 
  • Policy Development: Develop and monitor policies and standards regarding the allocation and use of computing resources.

What You Bring

Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience in an enterprise IT and datacenter environment utilizing VMware technologies.
• Proficiency in vSphere, ESXi 4.x & 5.x, and VDI.
• Experience managing complex, multi-tier solutions connected to EMC Storage Arrays with over a Petabyte of storage.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for infrastructure issues.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation abilities.

Clearance:Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
