Seeking a highly skilled L3/L4 VMware Engineer with extensive experience in VMware virtualization technologies, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of enterprise-level infrastructure. This role involves implementing, and maintaining VMware environments, as well as providing expert-level support to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
" VMware Infrastructure Management:
o Deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments.
o Perform advanced configuration and optimization of VMware infrastructure.
o Implement and manage vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines.
" Troubleshooting and Support:
o Provide L3/L4 support for VMware-related issues, including performance tuning and capacity planning.
o Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems related to VMware infrastructure.
o Collaborate with L1/L2 support teams to escalate and resolve issues promptly.
" Performance and Security:
o Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of VMware environments.
o Implement and maintain security best practices within VMware infrastructure.
o Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
" Disaster Recovery and Backup:
o Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for VMware environments.
o Ensure regular backups and replication of virtual machines and data.
" Documentation and Training:
o Create and maintain detailed documentation of VMware infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
o Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior engineers and support staff.
Qualifications:
" Education and Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
o 10+ years of experience in managing and supporting VMware environments.
o VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP, VCDX) are highly preferred.
" Technical Skills:
o In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and related technologies..
o Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerCLI, Python, Bash).
o Familiarity with network and storage concepts as they relate to VMware environments.
