Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an experienced and highly
skilled level four Voice System Engineer to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals. This role is critical in designing, implementing,
and maintaining our advanced voice communication systems. The successful
candidate will bring extensive expertise in voice technologies and
systems engineering, ensuring our communication infrastructure meets the
highest standards of performance and reliability.
As a Voice System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing,
configuring, and deploying voice communication systems, including VoIP,
PBX, and other related technologies. You will perform advanced
troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex voice system issues,
conduct system upgrades, migrations, and performance optimizations, and
collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice systems with
other IT infrastructure components. Additionally, you will develop and
implement best practices for voice system security and reliability,
monitor system performance, conduct regular audits to ensure optimal
operation, provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior
engineers and support staff, and create and maintain comprehensive
documentation for all voice system configurations, processes, and
procedures.
Compensation Minimum: $125,000
Compensation Maximum: $130,000
Job Requirements:
Skills / Experience Required
- Secret Clearance
- 10+ years of experience performing Voice Systems Engineer functions
- Provide Certified Nortel/Avaya Tier-3 level support
- Install/configure the Government furnished hardware and software.
- Perform representative sample tests needed to fully demonstrate that
the expansion resources and tasks operate correctly in a voice
switching environment.
- Resolves complex incidents and service requests independently
- Install necessary SIPRNET infrastructures to support secure voice
connectivity (fiber, shielded twisted pair, media converter,
Tactical Local Area Network Encrypter (TACLANE), network switch)
- Perform the Telephone Control Officer functions
- Coordinate telecommunication requirements with the Local Base
Communications Squadron, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA),
and Defense Information Technology Contracting Office (DITCO)
- Provide cellular telephone management functions
- Attend meetings as identified by the Government and provide
summary/detailed results/impact of meetings upon request by the
Government
- Extensive experience in voice system engineering, with a strong
focus on VoIP, PBX, and related technologies
- In-depth knowledge of voice communication protocols, including SIP,
RTP, and H.323
- Proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale voice
communication systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex
technical issues
- Excellent understanding of network architecture and integration with
voice systems
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP Collaboration, Avaya
Certified Expert, or similar
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to work effectively in a team environment
Education / Certifications
- 10 years of experience performing Voice Systems Engineer services
- Must possess and maintain an IAT I level certification

typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have
enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete
