Job Responsibilities

Responsible to direct and manage the overall operations of the business (commercial and agricultural) loan department, including business credit administration oversight, and assisting with business asset recovery.

• Ensure Credit Union and department standards are maintained in loan credit quality, profitability, member service, integrity, and compliance.
• Monitor and analyze economic conditions with the Chief Lending Officer.
• Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of assigned personnel and ensure quality of work and service to managers and staff. Establish effective communications and processes within the department.
• Aid in the development and implementation of new business lending programs and processes to improve efficiency and grow the overall loan portfolio of the Credit Union. Lead growth initiatives working with the Chief Lending Officer, Chief Development Officer and VP of Marketing to maximize production opportunities.
• Underwrite and decision business loan credit applications, participate in credit committee as required by policy, and effectively communicate with credit and frontline team members.
• Develop and implement corporate strategies to include achievement of financial objectives to meet desired goals. Direct preparation of departmental strategic plans assisting with establishing strategic planning parameters and monitoring planning and budget activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field
• Ten years broad experience in a financial institution's lending services
• Five years' experience in supervisor position
• Two years direct experience in agriculture and commercial lending
• Thorough knowledge of Credit Union account, regulations, polices, and procedures as it applies to the lending function
