Job Summary
The Vice President of Cloud Engineering will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining our private and public cloud infrastructure, and driving the technical direction, innovation, and scalability of our Cloud Engineering and Operations teams. The Vice President, Cloud Engineering will lead a team which is responsible for operating, architecting and building key infrastructure that runs high availability services that our customers and their businesses depend upon.
Responsibilities
- Actively contributes toward the vision, strategy, organization and leadership of the cloud engineering function.
- Defines and enforces cloud engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines.
- Provides technical expertise, strategic direction and guidance to ensure the delivery of resilient, scalable, secure and efficient cloud-based solutions. This includes leadership and guidance related to automation, monitoring and performance optimization.
- Provides effective leadership in developing highly engaged, high-performance cloud engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Leads complex and high visibility end to end projects through design, budgeting, testing, implementation and performance monitoring.
- Implement and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans for the cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and implement cloud strategy to minimize failure, improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure uptime, security, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure, and establish a culture of continuous improvement through analytics and metrics.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred but not necessary.
- Minimum ten years experience in Engineering or Architecture.
- Minimum five years of experience with cloud infrastructure.
- Minimum five years of experience leading Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
- Solid understanding of SRE practices, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
- Experience with comprehensive technology delivery that is secure and reliable including disaster recovery planning and operations, storage area network and redundant, highly available server and network architectures.
- Ability to analyze data/information and utilize key operating metrics to guide decisive decision making and clearly articulate the decisions to the intended audience.
- Strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to envision, articulate, and plan complex deliverables to align with the company’s goals and financial needs.
- Strong leadership and management skills; ability to select, develop, and motivate talent to address skill and capability gaps.
- Ability to develop, communicate, and embed best practice procedures both within a large team and across other functional areas.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.
- Experience developing cloud computing technology and infrastructure as well as experience designing and migrating applications to the cloud
- Experience with both GCP and AWS

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $178,500.00 - $255,000.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
