About the role
The Delivery Quality & Engineering (DQ&E) Organization is responsible for overall Delivery Quality and successful implementation of AIG's product and features to our customers. The organization while delivering quality assurance services should ensure collaboration, planning, engagement and execution working closely with diverse teams including Application Delivery, Business Operations, Technology Support and Product Management. The Delivery Quality & Engineering teams will need Subject Matter Expertise that focuses on quality requirements, technical engineers focusing on solutions that accelerate the testing lifecycle and strong management skills to coordinate and deliver programs working with multi-disciplinary teams and global execution model. Technical competency in Leadership combined with SME and Engineering skilled teams will ensure forward thinking, continual innovation and ability to adopt to disruptive technology such as Micro-Services, Cloud Native, Omni Channel products and operating models with Global Delivery, Quality Engineering & Automation, CI|CD Enablement for Testing, Cloud Operating experience and Stakeholder management as the basic premise.
Primary focus areas for Delivery Quality & Engineering include Lifecycle Automation, Business Centric Testing & Engineering driven assurance, End-User Experience long with Digital Assurance.
Summary:
The VP - Quality & Engineering role is critical to the success of the Delivery Quality & Engineering organization. The individual in addition to overall delivery management capabilities is required to have a deep understanding of Quality Assurance and Engineering (QA&E) practices and principles, solutions, frameworks and continuous testing capabilities to lead the specific capabilities of the DQ&E Organization.
Details:
- Experience in managing Quality Assurance and Engineering teams for successful implementation of Business critical / Large scale Strategic programs.
- Candidate should have deep hands-on knowledge of the full Software Development lifecycle working in an agile development environment.
- Working knowledge of US Property and Casualty lines of business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks etc.
- Good understanding of different lines of business within Insurance like Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals
- Experience testing Policy Administration Systems along with hands-on experience testing Underwriting, Actuary and Claims lifecycle would be preferred
- Manage large scale global testing team.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage complex large-scale programs consisting of multiple geographically separate scrum teams supporting automation, regression, feature test and system test.
- Drive and implement technical strategy for quality engineering initiatives. Understanding of DevOps and continuous testing capabilities is preferrable.
- Expertise on creating strategies, operating models and plan for the testing lifecycle.
- Responsible for implementation of standards, policies and procedures to ensure adherence and governance of quality standards and organizational controls.
- Develop and manage test artifacts, metrics and reports for QA activity to align to executive communication needs.
- Identify and document key risk items related to quality and present to program leadership/relevant committees for mitigation
- Expertise on Quality Management, Resource and Financial Management, Risk Management, Vendor and Contract Management.
- Identify and review Quality issues, develop alternate plans and make decisions with input from QA leadership.
- Collaborate with development, program and business teams throughout the testing phase.
- Assist team with UAT planning and defect management.
- Business stakeholder management
- Identify dependency and gaps proactively and create a Go-To green plan.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience with at least 3+ years as program manager
- Strong understanding of SAFe Agile and QA methodologies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience with Insurance/Financial products/applications
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
The base salary range for this position in Jersey City, NJ is $128,000 - $160,000.In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
