Job Purpose:
The VP of Fulfillment is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics operations of the Kitting & Fulfillment departments. This leadership role involves strategic planning, team management, and operational oversight to ensure the efficient movement of goods, timely deliveries, and cost-effective operations. The VP of Fulfillment plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction and operational excellence by leveraging technology, emerging trends, and cross-functional collaboration.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for fulfillment and kitting operations that align with organizational goals and the broader strategic plan.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging trends and technologies in fulfillment and kitting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage fulfillment budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Work with the sales team to identify revenue growth opportunities and foster organic growth with existing customers.
- Oversee the entire fulfillment and kitting process, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure fulfillment and logistics operations comply with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Analyze operational costs and identify areas for improvement to maximize profitability and reduce inefficiencies.
- Manage permanent, seasonal, and temporary staffing levels to meet operational demands and productivity targets.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the fulfillment/kitting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to create training programs aimed at enhancing employee skills and operational performance.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve logistics efficiency and overall effectiveness.
- Serve as an active member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), contributing insights and updates on fulfillment operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics and fulfillment performance to the ELT.
- Work closely with procurement, sales, production, and other departments to ensure seamless fulfillment operations.
- Collaborate with the Tech Team to implement automation tools and use analytics to streamline processes.
- Identify potential risks in fulfillment operations and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Ensure timely, accurate product deliveries to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve logistical issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as a champion of workplace culture and safety, promoting best practices across all areas of fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in fulfillment, kitting, logistics, supply chain management, or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics software, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across departments and with executive leadership.
- Positive "can do" attitude, with a focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Forklift certification preferred, but not required.
