Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Director/VP of HR to oversee all aspects of human resources for our multi-state operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee relations, HRIS implementation, and regulatory compliance. This role requires significant travel (up to 50%) and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Leadership: Lead and manage an HR team, including 4 HR professionals and 1 office coordinator. Oversee the full spectrum of HR functions, with a significant focus on employee relations, which will constitute approximately 65% of your time.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, working closely with external counsel on AC compliance and partnering with various law firms on EEOC matters. Provide support in workers' compensation, in collaboration with the Chief Legal Officer.
HR Operations: Oversee recruitment processes utilizing Workstream, manage benefits programs, and implement and maintain the Workday HRIS. Additionally, manage payroll, which reports directly to the Controller.
Leadership & Development: Play a key role in leadership development and succession planning, particularly in preparation for potential C-suite transitions.
Technology & Data Management: Utilize HR technology systems, including UltiPro, Infor, ADP, Oracle, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), to ensure efficient HR operations.
Travel & Meetings: Travel up to 50% of the time to attend company events, including financial meetings, employee gatherings, and conventions. Present HR updates at quarterly financial meetings and annual company-wide gatherings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in a multi-state or multi-location environment.
- Strong expertise in employee relations, regulatory compliance, and HRIS systems.
- Experience working with external legal counsel and managing risk and compliance issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in HR technology systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
