Job Summary:
The VP of Pricing & Market Access will lead the pricing and market access strategy and execution of launch plans to support Aquestive’s current products and late-stage pipeline. Reporting to the SVP, Sales & Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in the establishment and execution of all pricing and market access functional activities including Trade & Distribution.. In this leadership role, you will lead the evolution of the value proposition to U.S. payer and channel customers.
This role is based at Aquestive’s New Jersey headquarters and reports to the Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Design a fit for purpose pricing and market access strategy to enable broad and timely access to our medicines.
- Design an effective channel and distribution strategy for current and late-stage pipeline products.
- Manage Outsourced Government Pricing and Claims/Rebate Management Teams
- Innovate and create value-driven contracting strategies where appropriate.
- Align Market Access strategic and tactical plans to integrate with and achieve overall commercial strategic objectives and revenue forecasts
- Design a tailored patient support program to enable broad and timely patient access.
- Design innovative payer marketing strategies to communicate the value of our medications.
- Develop pre- and post- approval engagement strategies.
- Developing and executing against the access strategies for Aquestive’s portfolio of medicines in the United States, for both in-line and pipeline products
- Leading the development and alignment process for the U.S. Market Access operating plan
- Creating an environment of constant growth for the access strategy team that maximizes engagement and effectiveness
- Leading a team to define the strategies to achieve access goals, including how to message, position, and leverage Medical, Advocacy & evidence assessments, advocacy groups, and a product's clinical value proposition to compete and secure access for patients.
- Identifying evidence generation needs based on market access events and coordinating with Medical teams to inform the development of value propositions.
- Leading a team responsible for developing access advocacy strategies across Aquestive and engaging with Patient Advocacy lead to execute on the strategies.
- Keeping a pulse on upcoming legislative actions that impact patient access to Aquestive’s portfolio and determine which will necessitate shaping a cross-functional team to shape a response strategy.
- Leading a cross-functional team to model and understand the impact of new and upcoming legislative actions and help define Aquestive’s response strategy.
- Ensuring effective Account Management and Field Reimbursement training across the portfolio on access marketing materials.
- 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a minimum of 10 years in pricing and market access roles, including leading channel and distribution strategies, government account and payer account teams.
- Experience working with working in epilepsy and allergy/immunology space.
- Strong, long-term relationships with payers, PBMs and policy/government affairs communities.
- Evidence illustrating the ability to be different and bold. Must have demonstrated success at bringing novel and successful approaches that bring innovative products to patients.
- Knowledge of the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers as well as channel customers (i.e., specialty pharmacy and distribution, alternative distribution models, etc.).
- Understanding of reimbursement methodologies utilized by commercial and government payers under the medical and pharmacy benefits.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations to senior leaders.
- Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex strategic initiatives.
- Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge and aptitude in complex disease states.
- Ability to operate effectively in a changing environment, create business plans to anticipate and address change.
- Competency in translation of business objectives into actionable and measurable results.
- Negotiation skills and ability to make sound business arguments to influence external decision makers; establish / enhance reputation of Aquetive as responsible, valued business partner.
- Highly developed communication skills; ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations.
- Collaborative management style; build strong inter-departmental relationships.

- Product launch experience preferred.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required and MBA preferred
- Strong relationships and demonstrated skills in contracting and negotiation with MCOs, PBMs, IDNs and Health Systems with experience in various therapeutic areas (Prefer recent experience in the Neurology or Allergy/Immunology market)
- Solid track record in developing and implementing effective pull through plans, including analytics and metrics to track success
- Ability to manage several Outsourced Functions
- Documented success working collaboratively and effectively with sales teams to execute pull through strategies that drive sales and in-turn, positively influence access decisions; help them overcome access barriers including barriers based on utilization management restrictions and/or patient out-of-pocket costs
- Strong analytical skills, written and oral communication skills; contracting and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Proven track record of building, recruiting, and leading teams
- Highly organized and detail oriented

- Experience with Commercial and Governmental (Medicaid, Medicare, FFS, etc.) pricing and contracting.
