About the Job
The VP; Relationship Manager in the Private Client Services Department is primarily responsible for attracting and developing new personal and commercial deposit, loan and investment relationships for Ocean Bank and its subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:The position may uncover potential sales opportunities such as account additions and other products and services within an established portfolio in order to help achieve business development goals. For deposit relationships, responsible for monitoring account activity as well as managing accounts in uncollected or overdraft status. For new loan opportunities, take applications, gather required documentation and financial information, and work with department management and the credit underwriting teams and credit committees to move deals from application to closing. Must comply with all related CIP and BSA/AML requirements; adheres to Bank policies, procedures and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance with five (5) years of banking-related experience, or Associate’s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years banking-related experience in product sales and service to customers in commercial or international/private banking; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledgeable regarding bank operations, new accounts, relationship management, payment processing, wire transfers, debits/credits, overdraft/uncollected management, past due loan management, and related activities.
- Must be able to visit prospective clients within a designated market area in order to achieve sales objectives.
- Advanced understanding and experience with commercial banking or private banking relationships and experience interacting with high-net worth clients.
- Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and verbal communication (English and Spanish) skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS Software (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Experience working in a sales team with a high-quality service advocacy.
- An in-depth knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act/AML and related regulations is required.
- Knowledge of how to complete and maintain a comprehensive KYC client profile is required.
- An in-depth understanding of banking laws and applicable compliance regulations is preferred.
- An established contact or client portfolio is required.
- Series 7 license preferred.
