About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Vice President of Systems and Network Administration to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the critical systems and network infrastructure that supports our trading desk. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain systems supporting trading, order management, and portfolio accounting.
- Oversee Data Center technologies, including Cisco UCS, Dell VXRail servers, Dell EMC Powerstore and Unity SANs.
- Administer Windows servers and related technologies.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot VMware ESXi hypervisors.
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Configure and manage Cisco and Arista switches and routers.
- Support and configure Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Harden and secure Windows and VMware servers.
- Monitor systems and network performance.
- Perform regular backups and recovery procedures.
- Support LAN, WAN, and WiFi networks, including Meraki WiFi networks.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience in IT Systems Administration and Network Engineering.
- Extensive experience with Data Center technologies (Cisco UCS, Dell VXRail servers, Dell EMC Powerstore and Unity SANs, NetApp Filer).
- Strong Windows server administration skills (Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DNS, DHCP, File and Print services, SCCM).
- Proficiency with VMware ESXi hypervisors (vCenter Server management, VM provisioning, cloning, snapshots, Resource allocation, performance monitoring).
- Experience designing and building solutions for High Availability and Disaster Recovery configurations.
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP).
- Experience designing and implementing VLANs, STP, and VTP.
- Strong experience with Cisco and Arista switches and routers (Configuration and management, Routing and switching protocols).
- Experience in network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Palo Alto Firewalls (ACLs, policy creation and management, URL filtering, security profile configuration).
- Experience with Meraki WiFi networks.
- Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex IT systems and networks.
- Experience in hardening and securing Windows and VMware servers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in writing scripts using PowerShell, Python, etc.
- Collaborative and interpersonal skills.
- Presentation skills.
- Commanding presence.
- Relatable.
- Financial services background (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, finance, or related field from a top college or university.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, VCP, MCSE, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE) are a plus.
