Job Description:
Who we're looking for:
Production Engineering Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated VWF Engineer for Resin Parts and Jig Development.
The primary responsibility of this role is to design bumper/body jigs for the painting processes and confirm that safety, quality, productivity and cost all meet design targets.
Reporting to the SE Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint's department's objective to develop bumper jigs and study resin structure all new vehicle models.
What you'll be doing:
For bumper jig design and development, visiting suppliers and NAMCs to manage jig quality, budget, and feedback from manufacturing site.
CAE Programs to improve jig design, and cleaning processes incorporating Manufacturing Principles.
Resin parts to meet all standards and provide feedback to design groups.
Reports showing resin parts structure and jigs meet all quality, productivity and cost criteria.
with several PE and external groups to gain one voice for programming requirements.
on-line trials on the production floor to confirm actual results vs planned.
What you bring:
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline and 1 plus year in plastics/paint or related field
High Level Experience and knowledge of CAE
Experience developing and designing weld check fixtures
High Level Experience with Catia V5 and Hypermesh CAE simulation software
Ability to Travel within North America including Mexico and Canada and Japan
What you may bring:
Experience with Rapid Prototyping and check fixture design
Experience working with suppliers to maintain project schedule, budget, and quality milestones.
