The Microcircuit Emulation Center at SRI International (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) is looking for Wafer Fab Operations Technicians (Also known as Machine Operations and Production Technicians) to support the manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits) on-site in Princeton, NJ. These positions are for anyone who is looking to develop a career in semiconductor manufacturing with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills through internal mentoring and appropriate training opportunities.
Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system for the U.S. Military. SRI’s Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported U.S.-based manufacturing facility for over 35 years in Princeton, NJ.
Responsibilities:- Follow documented and established practices to perform hands on work in support of manufacturing operations in assigned work areas.
- Operating equipment and executing computer operating software in support of daily work tasks, data and information collection, storage, analysis, and interpretation.
- Working for significant time periods in controlled environmental areas: e.g., electrical test labs, environmental test labs, cleanrooms, and support areas wearing appropriate protective equipment following training.
- Documenting on-going and completed work, e.g., daily Passdown e-mail, and presentation of data and information.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a clean room and/or lab environment for a significant part of the workday and perform flexible shift work when required.
Qualifications:Manufacturing work experience minimum 2 years.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and computer systems is required.
Past work experience in manufacturing or semiconductors is advantageous.
Due to Government requirements, candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
The salary range is: $17.82-$23.62/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
