JOB SUMMARY
The responsibilities of the Wholesale Buyer is to support the Used Sales department in the market of selling and promoting trucks, maintain an accurate view of truck markets and evolve with the ever changing enhancements of truck specifications. This position will work deals, appraise trades, also maintain new and existing customers and travel to various locations in order to meet customer needs.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum on two years’ experience with Microsoft Excel and Access, CRM, and SharePoint.
- Minimum two years of experience in truck industry or similar industry capacity
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
- Assists sales team with completing or processing sales.
- Take ownership and accountability on departmental initiatives.
- Work in collaboration with other departments to accomplish company goals.
- Maintain client and prospect databases.
- Follow departmental procedures in completing truck paperwork using available systems tools.
- Be available for required meetings and other appointed times.
- Meet established performance criteria as determined by the Wholesale Manager.
- Complete product and sales training as assigned by Wholesale Manager.
- Ability to read and interpret truck specification lists and various other technical bulletins.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):
- There are no supervisory responsibilities are required with this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITES
- Search daily for inventory to acquire via telephone, email, and in person with industry contacts.
- Negotiate with contacts selling equipment for purchase to minimize acquisition cost.
- Communicate & offer purchased equipment to Wallwork managers prior to offering to other customers, dealers, or brokers.
- Communicate weekly via email and phone with Wholesale Manager of deals being worked or recent acquisitions.
- Presell 70% of acquisitions prior to purchase with signed buyers orders (i.e. purchase of 10 units- 7 need to be signed for unless written prior approval from General Manager).
- Verify all units being purchased meet or exceed “Trade Terms” unless approved by Wholesale Manager.
- Have all inventory inspected via inspection company or personally prior to exchanging of any funds.
- Receive front and back copy of any titles prior to any fund exchange.
- Communicate & verify exact locations, time, and contact for pickup of purchased units.
- Openly communicate via email units sold and funded to all sales employees when stock used equipment is wholesaled.
- Share and communicate positively all message with all employees.
- Work deals, appraise trades, handle and resolve any issues.
- Purchase or sell a minimum 75 independent transactions per year.
- Hold minimum of $2,000 gross profit per sold transaction – unless approved by Wholesale Manager.
- Continuously market yourself and Wallwork Wholesale in a positive and constructive manner.
- Attend UTA, Kenworth Pre-Owned, NDMCA, MTA, Used 20 group and any other industry related meetings that would benefit Wallwork Wholesale by attending.
- Sell any wholesale purchase equipment prior to 90 days of aging unless approved by Wholesale Manager.
- All purchases must be approved by Wholesale Manager for the first 90 days.
- Purchase no more than $250,000 of equipment per transaction/ package without Wholesale Manager prior approval.
- Keep live report of all transactions made in excel spread sheet tabbing by month. Track equipment aging, cost, gross, and customer.
- Apply honesty, integrity, dependability, cooperation, initiative, and attention to detail at all times.
- Report any challenges, concerns, issues or complaints directly to Wholesale Manager.
- Uphold a strong, positive relationship and work environment with all employees, vendors, customers at all times.
- Respond to all work related calls or emails within 1 business day.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented and results driven.
- Ability to work well under pressure while assisting a wide variety of customers and fostering relationships with key industry contacts ability to read and interpret truck specification lists and various other technical bulletins.
- Demonstrated leadership and follow-up skills.
- Ability to comply with all federal, state and local sale regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
- Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
- Performs Wallwork Inc.-wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor
- Upholds Wallwork Inc. ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in our policies and procedures
