In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading freight from trucks, containers, and trailers, ensuring the safe handling of merchandise, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Your day-to-day tasks will include sorting, stacking, and moving freight, as well as assisting with general warehouse duties. salary: $18.99 - $19 per hour shift: First work hours: 6 AM - 3 PM education: High School Responsibilities + Load and Unload Freight: Safely and efficiently load and unload freight from trucks, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts. + Sort and Organize Freight: Sort freight according to size, shape, and weight, and ensure proper placement in designated storage areas or onto trucks for distribution. + Inspect Freight: Check freight for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the warehouse supervisor. + Use of Equipment: Operate material handling equipment, such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified), to move freight within the warehouse. + Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and free of debris. Sweep or clean warehouse areas as needed. + Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and truck drivers to meet daily operational goals and ensure timely loading/unloading. + Follow Safety Guidelines: Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques. + Documentation: Complete required paperwork and update freight logs as necessary.
