We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. Your job will entail working in warehouse setting to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. North Vending is a growing supplier for B2B vending, POS, and Coin operated machines in the Illinois area.
*This is a contract opportunity with potential to become permanent or take part in more future projects.
Responsibilities
· Refurbish, repair, curve, and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and kiosks.
· Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
· Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
· Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements.
· Collaborate with the team to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
· Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery as needed.
· Perform general maintenance tasks such as, carpentry, and minor technical repairs.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and regulations.
· Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately for record-keeping purposes.
· Perform other general warehouse tasks as directed, such as cleaning, moving of kiosks and equipment, sorting, and organizing parts and supplies, shipping and receiving, etc.
Requirements:
· Proven experience as carpenter
· Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
· Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
· Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
· Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
· Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
· Good physical condition and endurance
· Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures, safety policies, and company protocols.
· Technical certifications or trade school education is a plus.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
