Position Title: Warehouse Assistant & DriverrnFLSA Classification: Non-exemptrnFull or part-time status: Full-timernDepartment: Basic NeedsrnReports to: Warehouse SupervisorrnHiring Range: $14.00-$18.50/hr DOErnDate written or last revised: August 2024rn rnPrimary Function of PositionrnAs the Warehouse Assistant & Driver, your role is to support the Warehouse Supervisor in all aspects related to providing food assistance to low-income clients. This includes collaborating with the supervisor to maintain a well-stocked, organized, and clean food bank and pantry.rn rnMajor Position ResponsibilitiesrnrnMaintain Clean and Safe Warehouse: Assist in keeping the warehouse tidy and hazard-free.rnManage Food Storage and Distribution: Ensure proper storage and distribution of donated food items following policies.rnCoordinate Volunteer Activities: Assist in organizing volunteers working in the warehouse.rnRepresent Agency to Community: Serve as an agency representative to stores and community organizations.rnHandle Deliveries and Donations: Assist in unloading/loading deliveries from various sources.rnOther assigned duties as needed.rnrn rn rnWork Environment rnrnWork in various conditions such as in the warehouse or in the community, including indoor and outdoor settings, year-round.rnUse of necessary personal protective equipment, such as ear protection, to ensure a safe working environment when operating equipment.rnrn rnPhysical Demands rnrnThis position entails working for extended periods while standing on your feet and the ability to lift up to 65 pounds is essential.rnMust be able to use a pallet jacks to move heavy pallets and bins of food around warehouse.rnOperating a large box truck is required. rnrn rnSkills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesrnrnWarehouse and Inventory Skills: Basic warehouse and inventory skills are preferred in this role.rnComputer Proficiency: Experience with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet navigation, enabling efficient data management and communication tasks.rnUnderstanding of Social Challenges: Understand the challenges faced by low-income families and the importance of collaboration with other service agencies to address them effectively.rnInterpersonal Skills: Possess personal qualities of openness and respect for co-workers, volunteers, and clients, fostering positive relationships and teamwork.rnEthical Standards: Demonstrate integrity, compassion, and empathy in all interactions, fostering trust and confidence among colleagues and clients.rnCommunication Proficiency: Exhibit proficiency in verbal and written communication, enabling effective interaction with colleagues, volunteers, and clients.rnTime Management: Ability to organize and manage time efficiently, ensuring tasks and responsibilities are completed effectively and within deadlines.rnConfidentiality: Must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring that it remains private and secure. This includes safeguarding client data, adhering to privacy laws, and protecting intellectual propertyrnrn rnEducation, Training, and ExperiencernrnA High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred for this position.rnrn rnBackground Screening RequirementrnrnMust be able to pass a national BCI/FBI background check. rnrn rnLicenses, certifications, and credentials rnrnDriving Requirements: A current Utah driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance meeting minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident. Additionally, be 21 years of age or older, maintain a clean driving record, and have the capacity to fulfill CCS vehicle safety standards. rnDOT Certification: Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card. rnForklift Certification: While not mandatory, forklift certification is preferred for this position.rnFood Handler's Permit: Must be familiar with safe food handling procedures and maintain a current food handlers permit.rnrn rnPosition status and expected schedulernrnThis is a full-time position that works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional weekends and Thursday evenings as needed.rnrn rn rnDISCLAIMER STATEMENT: This job description lists typical examples of work and is not intended to include every job duty and responsibility specific to a position.
