Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager will lead all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, receiving, dispatching, and ensuring smooth workflow. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity while managing a team of warehouse staff to achieve operational excellence. The Warehouse Manager collaborates closely with procurement, project management, and logistics teams to optimize efficiency and control costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient processes for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy.
- Implement and uphold best practices to boost productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Adjust warehouse operations to accommodate fluctuations in demand and capacity.
2. Inventory Control:
- Develop and maintain robust inventory management systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to maintain stock integrity.
- Optimize storage solutions to maximize space utilization and minimize product damage.
- Collaborate with procurement to forecast demand and manage stock levels effectively.
3. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of warehouse associates, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress, ensuring compliance with safety standards and deadlines.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance skills and boost team productivity.
- Promote a collaborative environment to align team efforts with warehouse and company goals.
4. Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of equipment and machinery.
5. Process Improvement:
- Continuously assess and refine warehouse processes to drive efficiency.
- Identify and implement new technologies and systems to streamline operations.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and solve problems effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various conditions, including temperature-controlled environments and outdoor areas during loading/unloading.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with occasional overtime as required to meet business needs.
