Overview:The Warehouse Supervisor leads the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient workflows and high standards of safety and quality. This position oversees labor management, coordinates shipping processes, and ensures proper maintenance of equipment. The role also involves training staff, addressing fulfillment challenges, and supporting overall logistics efforts. Additionally, the Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in facilitating smooth handovers between shifts and ensuring accurate documentation of procedures.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall Warehouse operation and leadership of hourly labor.
- Assign/Allocate labor to process workload.
- Ensure shipping documentation is completed on a timely basis.
- Ensure safety rules are known and followed by the team.
- Establish and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure daily cycle counts are performed accurately and timely.
- Ensure adequate equipment and facility maintenance.
- Conduct effective team member training as necessary.
- Act as liaison between Shipping and Sales for handling fulfillment issues.
- Conduct effective daily meetings to ensure smooth transition from shift to shift.
- Assist in documentation of procedures and associated training of staff.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of leadership experience (prior Team Leader, Supervisor)
- A proven track record of continuous improvement
- A solid understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehousing processes is required.
- Familiarity with the ERP (Visibility) system and proficiency in using personal computers are essential.
- Ability to set and work towards achieving goals is important.
- Strong team building, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are necessary.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Employee is regularly required to use hands for tasks involving fine motor skills, such as handling, feeling, or reaching with their hands.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and variances of temperature.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
